CMS FOREX wins scam of the day award... 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 12
CMS lists on their website:

Beginning Traders
Get acquainted with following a market, and discover a whole new way to invest.

Just had a live chat session with a CMS sales specialist:

Please wait for a site operator to respond.
You are now chatting with 'Alton'

Alton: Hello. Can you please tell me your name and how I can assist you today?
you: hi, my name is Jack. do you offer $200 starting accounts with 400:1 leverage and a 10k minimum trade size?
Alton: Yes, we do - that would be a mini account.
you: so with your lowest spread of 3 pips, if i wanted to risk 2% of my account on 1 trade i would be stopped out after 1 pip?
Alton: Yes, that is correct.
you: hmm.. that seems difficult to be able to profit from.. what would recommend as acceptable risk?
Alton: I cannot make any suggestions as to trading. We are regulated by the NFA.
you: ah, but the NFA allows you to offer high leverage on undercapitalised accounts which deplete faster with a 10k minimum trade size...
Alton: Yes. The minimum is 200 USD. With that you may trade mini-lots.
you: ok, thanks.. that's all i needed to know to make my recommendations...
Alton: Thank you for contacting CMS. We hope that you have a great day.

babypips.com recommends having $100,000 trading capital for a "standard account", $10,000 for a "mini account" and $1000 for a "micro account". Anything less than that and you should be opening a "demo acount".

So I suppose what you wanna show there is how CMS Forex is willing to offer a micro account as low as $200 when they know that it would not be profitable for the investor, nor does the investor have real chance to successfully trade, is that right?

The main point involves the 10k minimum trade size rule they impose on those accounts which infers the exploitation of new traders...

Alot of desk-dealing brokers are like that, sometimes they even pay you to open an account, for as low as $50! I forget which though, I think it was etoro or something..

Most don't read the fine print, but most desk-dealing brokers will hedge against their own clients trades; most retail traders are trading against each other, and never touching interbank level (bucketshops)and thus broker will get account balance instead of spread.. Considering 9.5/10 traders fail, i think it's a good business

It seems they are not looking to get benefit for spreads only, I guess it is a bad move. However those kinds of impositions just make you wonder, you should be aware at least the rates of trading capital for an account If not probably a demo account for a while would be the best choice.

Wow that is really a scam! With that monster leverage is taking advantage of rookie traders… without experience anyone can fall into the trap
